short thought on God's kindness

Romans 2:4 says, "God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance." Not his power, or our fear of hell, or harsh revival preaching, or studying the Greek of Romans 9, or an emotional drama based on a Ray Boltz song. It is God's kindness that is meant to move us. When we understand the seriousness of our rebellion and sin and how God sent the most precious thing to him (his only Son, Jesus) to die for those who rebelled against him, it leads us go to God like a prodigal running back to daddy.

If God's kindness is meant to have that effect, shouldn't Christians be the kindest people on the planet? If the primary way God relates to us is grace, shouldn't our speech be full of grace (Col 4:6)? If we have personally experienced mercy, shouldn't mercy characterize how we treat the imperfect people that we are surrounded by? You would think.

Thank you God for your kindness. I pray I never get over it.

Thanks Chris. Really a good perspective of what every day SHOULD be like.
